A Grand Day Out
EMRC trip to Foxfield Railway & Foxfield Colliery
Sunday 23rd October 2022
Following an earlier trip by 3 nutcases... sorry, dedicated club members to Chasewater Heritage Railway and Cheslyn Hay Mining Museum, primarily to gain information on a colliery railway project they were involved in planning in 0 Gauge, Tony had made arrangements with Foxfield Railway for a guided tour of the museum and engine shed, ride on the line and then a guided tour of the colliery area.
Tony, Peter and David (or Compo, Foggy & Clegg) were given 5 star plus treatment by everyone at Foxfield Railway, especially by our guide Anthony, the engine drivers of our train (David loved No3 Marston, Thompson & Evershed Ltd and enjoyed his footplate ride immensely), our guard/ticket inspector who gave some excellent guidance on the views, the friendly and informative shop staff and the wonderful catering staff. You were all wonderful and we thank you all immensely.
And now for some photos to show what other club members missed...
